SDARM EUROPEAN YOUTH CONFERENCE 2026

Dear young people,

we are pleased to invite you to this year’s European Youth Conference, taking place from August 12 to August 16, 2026, in Fulda, Germany. Under the theme “Faith, Hope, Love,” inspired by 1 Corinthians 13:13, we seek to find stability in these uncertain times.

Our conference offers a dedicated space to step away from daily life and grow together in fellowship. Join us for inspiring workshops on living out our faith, heartfelt devotions, and uplifting times of praise. It will be a wonderful opportunity to build lasting friendships across Europe while drawing closer to our Lord. We are incredibly excited to welcome you and look forward to sharing these precious days together.

Where will this event take place?

The conference will be hosted at the Oberbernhards Youth Hostel near Hilders, a picturesque location nestled in the low mountain landscape of Hesse. Surrounded by nature, this rural retreat offers a peaceful environment to enjoy God’s creation.

Our main gathering hall accommodates up to 200 people and features optimized acoustics, making it an excellent space for our choirs, musical groups, and worship sessions. The hall opens directly onto a spacious meadow, providing a perfect area for recreation and fellowship.

To take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings, we are planning a group hike to a nearby historical castle ruin, offering a great opportunity to explore the region and strengthen our connections.

For your travel planning, the address is:
DJH Jugendherberge Oberbernhards, Oberbernhards 5, 36115 Hilders, Germany.

How do you get to the conference?

International Flights:

Frankfurt Airport (FRA / EDDF):

Approx. 1.5 hours from the venue. We highly recommend traveling from the airport to Fulda by train, as it is the most convenient and reliable connection.

⚠️ Warning: Avoid Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN)! There are no trains available at this airport, and the bus ride to Frankfurt Central Station takes approx. 2 hours. Make sure to fly to Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

Transit to Fulda:

From Frankfurt Airport:
You can either rent a car or take a train. Trains run approximately every 40 minutes, and tickets cost between €15 and €40.

From Frankfurt Central Station:
Car rentals are available, or you can take a train. Trains depart roughly every 30 minutes, with prices ranging from €10 to €30.

Travel Tip:
To secure the best prices, we recommend purchasing your train tickets in advance via the Deutsche Bahn (DB) website or the DB Navigator app.

Shuttle Service from Fulda:

Good news: We are providing a free shuttle service to transport you to the venue in Oberbernhards. The drive takes approximately 20 minutes. This service is included, but please be sure to indicate your need for a seat during registration.

To keep our transfers eco-friendly and efficient, we aim to coordinate arrivals. Please be prepared for a short wait at the station so we can group arrivals together and ensure the shuttles are filled.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register, and when/how do I pay?

Registration opens on May 11, 2026. Once it’s live, you will find a large “Register Now” button at the bottom of this page. This link will take you to our external registration portal, where you can enter your details—such as your origin, age, and contact information.

After completing the form, we will send you an email regarding the status of your registration (either confirmed or placed on the waiting list). If your spot is confirmed, you will receive a payment request via email, which includes a secure payment link.

Group registrations: You can register multiple people at once and handle the payment for the entire group. In this case, please include a note in the payment process listing the full names of all participants you are paying for, so we can allocate the funds correctly.

Can I pay in cash on arrival?

Unfortunately, no. For security and administrative reasons, we only handle a limited amount of cash on-site. As we need to settle costs for the hostel and other arrangements in advance, all payments must be made online during the registration process.

To make this as easy as possible, we offer a wide range of payment methods, including credit/debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

I am coming from abroad (outside of Germany). What do I need to keep in mind?

Please make sure that your travel documents, such as your passport or ID, are valid for the duration of your stay. We also kindly remind you that you are required to have valid health insurance coverage for your time here.

I’m arriving early. What can I do before the conference starts?

To be determined. We are currently working on some suggestions and recommendations for early arrivals. Please check back here closer to the event date for updates and tips on how to spend your time!

Can I contribute my own program ideas (e.g., musical performances, singing groups, or sharing an experience)?

Yes, absolutely! We love it when participants want to get involved. We have set aside some time slots for these kinds of contributions, but please let us know about your plans as early as possible. Please avoid signing up just 5 minutes before the program starts so that we can fit you well into the schedule.

What should I definitely bring with me?

Bed linen is provided by the hostel, so you don’t need to worry about that. However, please remember to bring your own toiletries and towels. We also recommend packing slippers (to wear inside the building), sunscreen, and appropriate footwear for our hikes.

Can I bring my music instrument?

Of course! We warmly invite everyone to join us in praising and worshiping God through music and singing. We are planning to set up a dedicated area in the meeting hall for all our musicians to gather and play together.

Can I drop by as a day guest?

Unfortunately, that won’t be possible this time. Due to limited space in the meeting hall and catering arrangements that are strictly tied to the number of overnight guests, we cannot accommodate day visitors. However, we would love for you to join us for the full experience and stay for the entire long weekend!

I’d like to register, but I’m not sure if I can make it. Can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation at any time, but please note that we are unable to offer refunds for registration fees. As a non-profit event, we must reserve and pay for the hostel facilities and catering far in advance. These fixed costs are committed once your booking is confirmed, which is why we cannot provide refunds in case of cancellation.
